Here is a few more photos of  the orchids you can see in Vc 55, which I have taken over the last two weeks. These include Heath Spotted Orchid , Greater Butterfly Orchid , Southern Marsh Orchid ,  Common Twayblade , Common Spotted Orchid  and  Common Fragrant Orchid . Here is a few photos of the Pyramidal Orchids I saw in north-east Leicestershire yesterday.  

Here is a few photos I have taken over the last month or so of the Orchids you can see in Vc 55 (Leicestershire and Rutland). First up is Bee Orchid and Pyramidal Orchid . These two species were actually photographed on a Leicester city park yesterday and I counted at least 28 Bee Orchids and 8 Pyramidal Orchids occurring at this site! Last weekend whilst checking a few sites for orchids, I connected with two new county ticks in the form of Yellow Bird's Nest (Plant tick) and Dark Green Fritillary (Butterfly tick). The Yellow Bird's Nest was at Ketton Quarry LRWT and the Dark Green Fritillary was at a private site in the east of the county. Here is a few record shots of the said two!                    

Here is a few record shots of the adult Bridled Tern on Inner Farne , Northumberland I took on Tuesday (2/7/13). An excellent day out in the company of Adam Archer, with a mythical bird ticked off in fantastic surroundings! Bridled Tern OMFL!!
