Glorious Twelfth!?! Hen Harrier day!
A protest on the Glorious Twelfth about the extinction of Hen Harrier in England thanks to shooting estates!! So here is a photo of a beautiful male Hen Harrier for the glorious 12th!! Also thanks to the Isle of Man government for supplying the photo!
Chalkhill Blue OMFL!!
Here is a few photos of the recently discovered new colony of Chalkhill Blues at Bloody Oaks Quarry LRWT I took yesterday. I saw at least 6 Chalkhill Blues on site (4 males and two females) and mating was observed whilst I was there. Other butterfly highlights included a fly through Clouded Yellow , hundreds of Peacocks butterflies, one Brown Argus and three Small Copper butterflies.
